Spotlight on Production

Kids Say the Darndest Things

A big thank you to CBS, executive producer Eric Schotz, and executive in charge Meredith Fox, for choosing Arroyo West Studios to shoot Season 2 of Kids Say the Darndest Things.

The show, directed by Ken Fuchs, features host Tiffany Haddish having conversations with kids as they give their honest and unfiltered views about their world, lives and interests. Tiffany uses her humor and life perspective to interact with the kids, creating an unpredictable and often hilarious situation.

While taping the show we all shared an awesome moment when Tiffany Haddish learned she had won a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Check out the surprising and emotional video here.

From a technical perspective, the show used our 208v adapters. Lighting designer Matt Firestone, who’s lighting looked amazing, mentioned how the adapters helped save the production time and money. Our 208v adapters simply plug into the existing power on the DeSisti Lighting Hoist. The speed and versatility of our hoist system is one of many advantages of shooting here at Arroyo West Studios.

I what to express my gratitude to the whole crew. Everyone did a fantastic job and was a pleasure to work with. A special thank you to line producer Tiffany Drucker and tech manager Doug Armstrong. Great professionals, really enjoyed our rapport. Also, a shout-out to the Touring Video engineering crew. You guys are the best.

It was a great having Kids Say the Darndest Things at Arroyo West Studios. I hope to have the privilege of seeing everyone back here again soon.
